The apodosis of a past condition contrary-to-fact in o.o.; in o.r., Nero's words were, "ego severitatem decernentium impedivissem," "I would have prevented the severity of those deciding, [had I been in the Senate]"; in o.o., the pluperf. subj. of the o.r. is replaced by a periphrastic form with the perf. subj. of "esse," "impediturus fuerit."
