Atellanicos versus - "verses from Atelline farces"; these were low-brow comedy with stock situations and characters, such as Maccas, the glutton, or Pappus, the old man. Trimalcio has a troupe to perform these plays. To mix verses from these with Vergil would be like comparing the Mona Lisa with bathroom graffiti.
