The leading verb "pervicere" (= "pervicerunt") implies a negative clause of hindering/prevention. Such clauses, similar to result clauses, are introduced by "quōminus," nē, or if negative by "quīn," and less often "quōminus," and they have verbs in the subjunctive. So here "prevailed (in preventing her) from denying the charges."
